( — July 8, 2021) Orlando, FL — Nowadays, studies looking into the therapeutic effects of food like mushroom pile up. There are many benefits linked with mushroom consumption, and these include those favorable to brain health.

A study was carried out and published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.

It is worth noting this research was carried out by a team from the Department of Psychological Medicine and Department of Biochemistry at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

The study findings have shown that feeding seniors with more than two standard portions of mushrooms weekly have lessened the odds of having a mild cognitive impairment (MCI) by 50 percent.

It is worth noting that a portion pertains to three-quarters of a cup of cooked mushrooms.

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) pertains to a stage in between the predicted cognitive decline in normal aging and a more severe decline in dementia.

It is worth noting that when it happens, it leads to issues affecting memory, thinking, language, or judgment. Individuals who suffer from MCI may actually notice their memory or mental function slipping.

The changes it produces may also be noticeable by family and close friends. It is worth being warned that this condition increases the odds of dementia later in life.

To reduce the odds of having this condition, it is wise to avoid excessive alcohol use, smoking, and exposure to air pollution. It is also important to practice good sleep hygiene and follow a nutrient-rich diet.

One of the strongest mushrooms for the brain is called the lion’s mane, which has long been researched due to its strong medicinal potentials.

In some studies, it has been found the special compounds it contains have protective benefits. These are hericenones and erinacines, which are found to aid in stimulating the growth of brain cells.

Scientists even carried out animal studies and found that this medicinal mushroom worked in warding off Alzheimer’s disease. It is worth noting this degenerative brain disease may lead to progressive memory loss.

Lion’s mane extract use has long been linked with a myriad of health benefits. This is why today, it is widely resorted to via supplementation.

One of the safest and effective formulas is Divine Bounty Lion’s Mane, which is known for its high potency and purity. It is made carefully based on strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines.
