(Newswire.net — October 25, 2021) Orlando, FL — As the prevalence of diabetes continues to skyrocket, more and more researchers are looking into some ways to reduce its rates. It is worth mentioning that there are many studies today that look into the risk factors of this disease.

A new study was carried out by Dr. John Sievenpiper, an associate professor and staff physician at the University of Toronto and St. Michael’s Hospital in Canada.

In this research, it has been found that consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages like cola could increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. The investigators further found that such beverages increase diabetes risk much more than the sugar found in fruit or even 100 percent fruit juices.

“All foods are not created equal,” said Dr. Sievenpiper.

“We synthesized all of the available trials looking at different food sources of sugar and blood sugar control, and sugar-sweetened beverages really stand out as having an adverse effect,” he adds.

In the United States, the consumption of high-fructose corn syrup is linked with the increasing prevalence of diabetes and obesity.

The review was published online recently in the BMJ.

Experts have long been stressing the importance of taking some helpful measures in warding off diabetes. It is important to be warned that when it is not managed, it could result in various complications.

It is always best to take helpful measures in fighting diabetes. There are studies revealing that natural remedies like milk thistle may work wonders in fighting this condition.

In multiple research studies, milk thistle has been able to demonstrate its ability to deliver various health benefits, especially among individuals with diabetes.

According to Fallah Huseini, they don’t know the exact mechanism of action for this effect, but this work shows that silymarin could play an important role in treating type 2 diabetes.

Huseini works for the Institute of Medicinal Plants in Teheran.

Researchers reveal that milk thistle contains silymarin, which has helped protect 51 diabetics from liver poisoning.

This study was published in the Phytotherapy Research journal.

There are other mechanisms milk thistle has been found to aid in battling diabetes. Today, it is widely resorted to via supplementation like the use of Divine Bounty Milk Thistle.
