(Newswire.net — October 29, 2021) — On Monday, DeMar DeRozan brought the ‘Chicago Bulls’ to a 111-108 victory over their former team, the ‘Toronto Raptors’, giving ‘Chicago’ their best regular-season start (4-0) since the 1996/97 season.

‘Chicago’ management decided to significantly strengthen the roster to improve the ‘Bulls’ chances of making it as far in the playoffs as possible. Karnisovas brought to ‘Chicago’ DeMar DeRozan, a forward from ‘San Antonio’ using a sign-and-trade deal, trading him for Thaddeus Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, and picks. DeRozan cost the Bulls $85m for three years.
Skeptics are wary of such a contract for a basketball player who plays in an outdated manner, but this week DeMar scored 26 points in a game against ‘Toronto’, 11 of them in the fourth quarter, and brought his team its 4th win to start the season.
‘Chicago’ young leader Zachary LaVine, around whom the manager will likely build the new ‘Bulls’, has never won 4 straight NBA games in his professional career before. The guard set another ‘Chicago’ record with his 558th three-pointer for the club from Illinois, surpassing the legendary Michael Jordan, who made 555 accurate long-range shots.
The ‘Bulls’ traded center from Montenegro Nikola Vučević back in the spring. Lonzo Ball, a quality point guard with a high IQ and strong defensive skills, joined Lavin in the offseason. However, the management also handed Ball a hefty $80 million four-year contract.
An interesting pre-season signing was also a $37 million, four-year contract with NBA champion Alex Caruso. Caruso is proving to be more than just a catch in the first games of the season, as he leads the league in steals with 13.
Ahead of the season, most experts had a negative view of the ‘Chicago’ team’s roster.
«’Chicago’ will try to work the ‘Golden State’ way. Four little guys, they’ll stretch the defense, they’ll shoot, they’ll run, Zachary LaVine will shoot three-pointers, Lonzo Ball will try to get everybody involved. It will be an experiment. I wish ‘Chicago’ good luck with their experiment, and I hope it goes well, but … You can’t win championships with this team,» Shaquille O’Neal said before the start of the championship.
There could be a slump ahead for Billy Donovan’s team, but for now, ‘Chicago’ fans can enjoy their beloved team’s victories for the first time in a long time. The last time the ‘Bulls’ made the playoffs was in the 2016/17 season and lost to the ‘Boston Celtics’ in the first round in a six-game series.
In the season’s first game, Lavin and company beat ‘Detroit’ at ‘Little Caesars Arena with a 94-88 score. Zachary netted 34 points in that game, and Vučević had a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
‘Chicago’ defeated another team with young, promising players, the ‘New Orleans Pelicans (128-112), at the ‘United Center’. Lavin again had the most points (32), Derozan scored 26, and Lonzo Ball had a triple-double with 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and 17 points.
The ‘Bulls’ beat the ‘Detroit Pistons’ again late last week, 97-82. Vucevic had his second double-double (19 rebounds+15 points), and DeRozan scored 21 points.
Donovan’s squad has yet to face a difficult opponent but currently leads the Eastern Conference with a 4-0 record.
