(Newswire.net — November 8, 2021) Orlando, FL — Incurable conditions like arthritis continue to affect more and more people today. Scientists are increasingly studying this condition and how it can be cured.
A study was carried out and published in the Arthritis & Rheumatology.
In this research, it has been found that there was a substantial underestimation in the prevalence of arthritis in the United States.
The findings indicate that more studies are required in better monitoring U.S. arthritis rates and developing enhanced prevention strategies.
A single survey question is used as a basis in the current national estimates of arthritis. It asked the subjects whether or not they remembered ever being told by a doctor that they have arthritis. The process did not involve the use of information about the patients’ joint symptoms.
It was S. Reza Jafarzadeh, DVM, MPVM, Ph.D., and David T. Felson, MD, MPH, of Boston University School of Medicine, who developed a method for arthritis surveillance.
Such a method was based on chronic joint symptoms, doctor-diagnosed arthritis, and whether symptom duration exceeded three months.
The analysis of the 2015 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) has shown that arthritis impacts a much higher percentage of the US adult population. What’s even more alarming is that it happens at a younger age than previously thought.
Further, the researchers have revealed that of 33,672 participants, 16.7 percent of women and 19.3 percent of men, aged 18-64 years experienced joint symptoms without a concurrent report of doctor-diagnosed arthritis.
It is worth noting that the respective proportions for participants 65 years of age and older were 15.7 percent and 13.5 percent.
“Our findings are important because of underestimated, yet enormous, economic and public health impacts of arthritis including healthcare costs and costs from loss of productivity and disability, including in adults younger than 65 years of age,” said Dr. Jafarzadeh.
The scientific community continues to carry out research studies in finding all-natural remedies beneficial for those with the condition. It is interesting to note that nutrients like B vitamins have been found to have arthritis-fighting benefits.
These nutrients are vital for certain body processes and are being widely studied by scientists.
Extra-strength supplements like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex could be a wise choice. This amazing supplement has all B vitamins namely B12, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and Folic Acid.
