(Newswire.net — November 25, 2021) Orlando, FL — Sexual health issues have been dominating the headlines in recent years. Experts have been highlighting that the number of women who engage in sex regularly has been declining with age.

Further, it is found that the number of women who enjoy sex postmenopause is even lower. While this is not at all surprising, it is important to note that the identified causes of these declines may be due to the fact that previous studies focused largely on biological causes only.

There are fewer known facts about the variety of psychosocial changes that usually occur in postmenopause. These include body image concerns, stress, mood changes, self-confidence, and perceived desirability, and relationship issues.

A new UK study was carried out and published in Menopause, the journal of The North American Menopause Society (NAMS).

This study was done in nearly 4,500 postmenopausal women involved in the UK Collaborative Trial of Ovarian Cancer Screening (UKCTOCS).

The UKCTOCS sexual activity data showed that, at baseline, prior to the start of annual screening, roughly half of the women were sexually active.

It is worth noting that the researchers observed a reduction in all aspects of sexual activity over time. Further, sexual activity has actually become less frequent, more uncomfortable, and not as pleasurable.

According to experts, the primary reason for the absence of sexual activity was the lack of a partner, mainly because of widowhood.

There are other reasons commonly cited for lessened activity, such as a partner’s medical condition, sexual dysfunction of the spouse, the woman’s own physical health problems, menopause-associated symptoms, and prescribed medication.

According to Dr. Stephanie Faubion, NAMS medical director, sexual health challenges are common in women as they age, and partner factors play a prominent role in women’s sexual activity and satisfaction, including the lack of a partner, sexual dysfunction of a partner, poor physical health of a partner, and relationship issues.

The scientific community continues to research ways to help people enhance their sexual performance and health. This is particularly true for women who are struggling with menopause.

The good news is that there are actually some all-natural remedies like the use of diindolylmethane (DIM) that may be helpful for those who suffer from menopause symptoms.

DIM has long been researched due to its strong medicinal benefits. In some studies, it has been able to work in reducing the severity of menopause symptoms. It is also worth noting it could be useful in maintaining sexual health.

This remedy may be obtained through the use of formulas like Purest Vantage DIM. (amazon.com/DIM-Diindolylmethane-250mg-Per-Capsule/dp/B072C46H29)
