(Newswire.net — December 15, 2021) Orlando, FL — Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely used nowadays, especially among individuals who suffer from pain. However, it is worth noting that the use of this type of medication is linked with side effects.

According to study author Andrea Arfe, a Ph.D. student at the University of Milano-Bicocca, in Italy, the risk of heart failure linked with NSAID use by 20 percent increases with the amount one takes.

This is alarming considering that this type of medication is widely used nowadays.

“Although over-the-counter NSAIDs are typically used at lower doses and for shorter durations, they are sometimes available at the same doses as prescription NSAIDs and they may be inappropriately overused,” Arfe adds.

The study was published in the British Medical Journal.

It was based on the analysis of the medical history of millions of individuals belonging to four European countries, namely Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

It is worth noting that the participants were 18 years old and older and had started using NSAIDs between 2000 and 2010.

Pain relievers like NSAIDs are often used by individuals suffering from conditions like arthritis. This type of medication has been found to aid in reducing levels of inflammation and easing pain.

Scientists are carrying out studies to look into the inflammation-fighting effects of certain nutrients. One is magnesium which has long been reputed to work wonders in delivering a range of health-enhancing and disease-fighting benefits.

According to health authorities, many people today are deficient in magnesium. Unfortunately, a deficiency in this mineral has long been found to produce various undesirable health consequences.

Studies have shown that reduced intake of this powerful healing macromineral is associated with chronic inflammation. It is worth being warned that in a study, kids who had the lowest blood magnesium levels had the highest levels of C-reactive protein, which is an inflammatory marker.

The investigators also noted that the subjects tend to have increased levels of insulin, blood sugar, and triglycerides.

This macromineral may significantly aid in warding off symptoms and diseases linked with inflammation. Supplementation of this mineral has further been found to decrease CRP as well as other inflammation markers in older adults.

Today, more and more researchers are actually looking into the most helpful ways to reduce inflammation levels. Some healthy foods and nutrients like magnesium are highly recommended as they also deliver various therapeutic effects.

In addition to consuming magnesium-rich foods, some formulas like Divine Bounty Magnesium Citrate may also be helpful. What makes the use of this formula highly beneficial is that it contains citric acid, which enhances magnesium absorption inside the body (https://www.amazon.com/Divine-Bounty-Magnesium-Citrate-Supplement/dp/B01LYWPNY6).
