(Newswire.net — December 27, 2021) Orlando, FL — It has long been established that taking better care of the liver could positively affect overall health. However, when its health deteriorates, it could also result in undesirable health outcomes.

A study was presented at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference.

This study was spearheaded by Dr. Mitchel A. Kling, an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

In this research, it has been found that there was a link between Alzheimer’s disease risk and decreased levels of plasmalogens. It is worth mentioning that plasmalogens are a type of phospholipid produced in the liver that plays a key role in maintaining brain health cells.

Experts say that from the liver, plasmalogens are transported to the brain and some other organs via the blood.

Dr. Kling in collaboration with colleagues from the Alzheimer’s Disease Metabolomics Consortium at Duke University in Durham, NC devised the specialized tests used in measuring the levels of these phospholipids.

It is worth mentioning that the researchers in this study evaluated the levels of several different plasmalogens, which included ones containing specific omega-3 fatty acids: docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and eicosapentaenoic acid.

They were particularly aiming to confirm whether reduced plasmalogen levels were associated with the increased risk of cognitive impairment, which includes Alzheimer’s disease, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), or significant memory concerns (SMC).

Experts have long been stressing the importance of taking some measures to protect and enhance liver health. It is important to realize that in addition to following a healthy diet, it may also be useful to take into account the use of certain remedies.

A natural remedy called milk thistle is particularly known to deliver these benefits. It is worth realizing that this therapeutic ingredient has been found to work wonders in strengthening and stabilizing cell membranes.

What makes it all the more beneficial is that it aids in stimulating protein synthesis as well as the liver’s cell regeneration. To top it off, it prevents prostaglandin production, which could otherwise result in irritation.

Experts suggest that milk thistle is particularly known for its ability to detoxify and support liver health. Studies have even shown it can counteract toxin-related damage as well as certain conditions that trigger redness and swelling.

In particular, milk thistle aids in offering protecting against toxic substances that the liver is susceptible to. It can also enhance levels of glutathione, and promote normal liver function.

Today, many experts strongly recommend the intake of certain formulas to experience their healing goodness. One of these supplements is Divine Bounty Milk Thistle, which is popularized for its high potency and purity (amazon.com/Milk-Thistle-Supplement-Standardized-Extract/dp/B01LWI4A51).
