(Newswire.net — January 12, 2022) Orlando, FL — Health authorities have long been stressing the relevance of taking some measures useful in taking better care of the lungs. There are actually many people more susceptible to lung health issues.

A study was carried out and published in the Annals of the American Thoracic Society.

In this research, it has been found that over 4 in 10 women with asthma are susceptible to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

This study is called “Asthma and COPD Overlap in Women: Incidence and Risk Factors.”

Teresa To, Ph.D., and coauthors carried out this study involving 4,051 women with asthma included in their study. It has been found that 1,701, or 42 percent, developed COPD. It is worth noting that on average, the women were tracked for about 14 years after their asthma diagnosis.

“Previous studies have found an alarming rise in ACOS in women in recent years and that the mortality rate from ACOS was higher in women than men,” said Dr. To.

Dr. Teresa To is a professor in the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Toronto in Canada.

“We urgently need to identify and quantify risk factors associated with ACOS in women to improve their health and save lives.”

It has been reported there were individual risk factors that played a more significant part in the development of ACOS compared to exposure to fine particulate matter. It is worth keeping in mind that fine particulate matter is a major air pollutant that can penetrate deep into the lungs due to its microscopic size.

The researchers revealed that women who smoked more than a pack of cigarettes a five for five years were more susceptible to ACOS than those who smoked fewer cigarettes or never smoked.

However, it has also been found the disease did not only impact those who smoke, but also 38 percent of those who had never smoked.

Scientists have been looking into the techniques potentially helpful for lung health. Time and again, studies have shown proper nutrition plays a significant role in the improvement and protection of the lungs.

There are nutrients like certain B vitamins that may be helpful. These nutrients could produce many life-saving and disease-fighting benefits.

Extra-strength supplements like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex could be an excellent choice. This formula has Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6.
