(Newswire.net — January 20, 2022) Orlando, FL — The American Heart Association warns that in the United States, there are over 100 million individuals with hypertension.

It is undeniably a growing number across the U.S. and is associated with a myriad of undesirable health consequences.

In a recent study, it has been found that there could be a link between hypertension and reduced zinc levels.

The findings of this research were published in the American Journal of Physiology–Renal Physiology.

It has not been known exactly why there could be a link between the two. However, what has been discovered was that individuals suffering from conditions like chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes have one thing in common.

This is because they have a deficiency in zinc and high blood pressure.

According to the investigators, there is particular importance of the sodium chloride cotransporter (NCC) in the kidney in the management of blood pressure. It is important to note that it works in reabsorbing sodium from fluid, which is fated to turn into the urine.

The scientists revealed that mice with a diet low in zinc suffered from hypertension. They further suggest that zinc deficiency mediates hypertension caused by NCC.

In the presence of zinc, the NCC activity is altered. More specifically, there is an increase in NCC activity when zinc levels are at their lowest.

It is vital to take some healthy steps to fight hypertension, and this can be made possible with the help of zinc. It is worth realizing that zinc has long been found to aid in the proper functioning of the digestive and immune systems.

What makes it all the more beneficial is that it also helps in managing diabetes and reducing levels of stress. Experts have long warned against chronic stress as it could potentially trigger a range of diseases.

This essential mineral is also particularly beneficial for men, especially in maintaining semen quality and prostate gland health.

Scientists even reveal that over 300 different enzymes in the body need zinc to normally function. A deficiency in zinc could even result in various undesirable health consequences, which include retarded bone growth, loss of appetite, growth retardation, weight loss, and depression.

There are many sources of this mineral and one is a supplement called Divine Bounty Men’s Multivitamins. This formula is particularly useful for males who want to experience the therapeutic goodness of this mineral.

It is worth mentioning this formula has vitamin A, C, D, E, K, thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12, biotin, pantothenic acid, calcium, phosphorous, iodine, magnesium, zinc, selenium, copper, manganese, chromium, and molybdenum.
