(Newswire.net — January 31, 2022) Orlando, FL — In the United States, low bone density or osteoporosis has been found to affect 54 million individuals. It is often called a silent disease due to the fact that it progresses slowly without showing symptoms.

According to experts, osteoporosis is accountable for two million broken bones every year. Further, almost 80 percent of older American women with broken bones are left untreated for osteoporosis.

Statistics further show that this bone health issue accounts for 1.5 million fractures every year. Approximately eight million of the ten million Americans with osteoporosis are women.

The alarming statistics of bone issues like osteoporosis and osteopenia, which pertains to low bone density, have encouraged many researchers to conduct studies.

In a small study, it has been found that osteopenia is actually more common among middle-aged men than previously thought. The findings of this research are interesting considering that brittle bones have long been thought to be a woman’s health issue.

This research involved 173 adults who were between ages 35 and 50 years. The investigators found that men and women were equally susceptible to having low bone mass in the hip. It has been particularly found that 28 percent of men had it and 26 percent of women.

According to researcher Allison Ford, a professor of health and exercise science at the University of Mississippi, the fact that osteopenia was just as common in men came as a surprise.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the U.S. reveal that around one-quarter of American women aged 65 and above suffer from full-blown osteoporosis in the hip or lower spine.

More studies are still being carried out to explore the various aspects of bone health and how conditions like osteopenia and osteoporosis can be prevented.

Some interesting research studies reveal that plant-based remedies like milk thistle may aid in offering protection to bone health.

It is worth noting that scientists have been exploring the beneficial effects of natural remedies to enhance bone health and protection. The use of milk thistle has been found to be useful in warding off bone loss.

According to experimental test-tube and animal studies, this natural remedy aids in stimulating the mineralization of bones. What makes it all the more beneficial is that it can be potentially useful in offering protection against bone loss.

It is interesting to note that the use of this natural remedy has also led to the prevention or delay in bone loss among postmenopausal women.

In experiencing its therapeutic bone health benefits, it may be wise to consider the use of Divine Bounty Milk Thistle (www.amazon.com/Milk-Thistle-Supplement-Standardized-Extract/dp/B01LWI4A51).
