(Newswire.net — February 11, 2022) Orlando, FL — Studies investigating the various impacts of Covid-19 continue to increase. Today, there are researchers who investigate how it affects the human body.

One study was carried out at the Yale Liver Center and was published in Hepatology.

In this research, it has been found that Covid-19 patients had abnormal liver tests at much higher rates compared to what’s suggested by earlier studies.

The investigators also found that increased levels of liver enzymes were linked with poorer outcomes for these patients. These include mechanical ventilation, ICU admission, and even death. It is worth noting that these are these enzymes are proteins released due to liver damage.

In previous studies carried out in China, it has been found that roughly 15 percent of these patients with Covid-19 had abnormal liver tests.

This Yale study looked retrospectively at 1,827 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the Yale-New Haven Health system between March and April. The findings have shown that the incidence of abnormal liver tests was much higher depending on the specific test.

More particularly, it was in between 41.6 percent and 83.4 percent of patients.

The scientists examined five liver tests and looked at factors like elevations in aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine transaminase (ALT). It is worth noting these indicate liver cell inflammation as well as an increase in bilirubin, which indicates liver dysfunction.

It may also mean increased levels of alkaline phosphatase (ALP), which may indicate inflammation of bile ducts.

It is important to note that the researchers have not discovered yet why the incidence of abnormal liver tests was so much higher than in previous studies from China.

According to senior author Dr. Joseph Lim, other health differences between the Chinese and U.S. populations could account for it.

Dr. Lim is a professor of medicine and director of the Yale Viral Hepatitis Program.

“We can speculate that U.S. patients may have an increased rate of other risk factors such as alcoholic or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,” he said.

Experts continue to stress the relevance of taking some measures helpful in increasing protection against Covid-19. It is essential to follow safety protocols and maintain strong immunity.

Having a healthy immune system is vital in reducing the risk of complications or even death by Covid-19. Following a healthy diet, getting adequate sleep, managing stress, and exercising regularly are some of the top techniques to have strong defenses.

It is similarly important to nourish the body with nutrients like B vitamins, which can be obtained from food or supplements like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex.

It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
