Researchers Warn Loneliness Is Detrimental to Heart Health

This research looked into whether poor social network was linked with worse outcomes in 13,463 patients with arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm), heart failure, ischaemic heart disease, or heart valve disease. 

The study has particularly shown that feelings of loneliness were linked with poor outcomes in all patients regardless of their type of heart disease, and even after adjustments for age, body mass index, smoking, level of education, other diseases, and alcohol intake.
