(Newswire.net — April 19, 2022) Orlando, FL — Years of research have demonstrated that carrying excess weight or being obese increases the odds of having certain diseases.
In the United States alone, obesity is considered to be an epidemic. Some of the diseases associated with obesity are arthritis, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. Experts have been increasingly stressing the relevance of maintaining a healthy weight.
There are many factors contributing to weight gain, and these include overeating.
A study was carried out by a research team, which included Sergio Iñiguez, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology at The University of Texas at El Paso.
Iñiguez directs UTEP’s Iñiguez Behavioral Neuroscience Lab and helped design novel experimental techniques for the research.
The 10-member team was spearheaded by Brandon Warren, Ph.D., assistant professor of pharmacodynamics at the University of Florida.
The investigators have found that a specific area of the brain is linked with recollection as well as the desire to find and consume food. It could result in a technique that inhibits the desire to overeat. They revealed that people actually tend to overeat when being exposed to environments or cues reminding them of treats.
It is worth noting these treats may be one reason why people like having a dessert even after a filling meal.
The study highlighted that neurons in a certain part of the brain control the association between the cue (seeing the dessert) and the action (ordering the dessert).
“This is a big discovery because we now have experimental tools that allow us to turn off neurons while the subjects engage in a specific behavior,” Iñiguez said.
“This research shows that a specific part of the prefrontal cortex of the brain is important for the initial stages of learning to seek food.”
Overeating undeniably leads to weight gain, which in turn can result in obesity if left unnoticed or unaddressed. Health authorities have been increasingly stressing the relevance of taking helpful measures in fighting this condition.
This is due to the alarming fact that obesity increases the risk of various health issues, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. There are many ways to manage a healthy weight aside from avoiding overeating.
It is strongly recommended to engage in physical activities regularly. There are also supplements like Divine Bounty L-Carnitine that may be helpful. This remedy could work wonders in enhancing energy levels and helping the body shed extra pounds.
Divine Bounty L-Carnitine is made carefully in an FDA-inspected facility in the U.S (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XF7K9MM).
