(Newswire.net — May 3, 2022) Orlando, FL — More and more studies are looking into the negative effects of sleep deprivation on overall health. In a study from China, the investigators suggest that individuals with chronic insomnia may be at a heightened risk of hypertension.

In this research, the investigators found that subjects with chronic insomnia who took more than 14 minutes to fall asleep had a higher risk of hypertension by 300 percent. It is further worth noting that the longer it took to fall asleep, the greater the risk.

The findings of this study were published on Jan. 26 in the journal Hypertension.

According to researchers, chronic insomnia pertains to sleeping difficulties that last for over six months. It involved over 200 individuals with chronic insomnia. There were also nearly 100 who were categorized as normal sleepers.

The subjects were assessed at West China Hospital, Sichuan University, in Chengdu, China.

According to study co-author Dr. Alexandros Vgontzas, although insomniacs complain of fatigue and tiredness during the day, their problem is that they cannot relax and that they are hyper.

Dr. Vgontzas is a professor of sleep research and treatment in the department of psychiatry at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa.

There are scientifically-discovered measures found to be helpful in enhancing sleep quality and quantity. It is important to realize that taking these steps may aid in warding off diseases associated with insomnia.

According to researchers, an antioxidant called resveratrol contains various therapeutic compounds essential to sleep enhancement.

In clinical trials, it has been found that a single dose of 14 mg of resveratrol enhanced deep sleep compared to the placebo.

It is important to realize that in this research, the brain wave measurement, as well as sleep observation, exhibited a high delta rhythm power value during the early stages of sleep. This provides an adequate improvement in non-REM sleep or deep sleep.

Experts stress that the early stage of non-REM sleep is vital in achieving good sleep quality.

It is worth realizing that today, there are many experts who strongly recommend the use of resveratrol for various medicinal purposes. It is found to offer a myriad of health benefits and may even work wonders in fighting diseases.

Formulas like Divine Bounty Resveratrol may aid in delivering the therapeutic, sleep-enhancing goodness of this antioxidant. This highly potent formula also has other added ingredients scientifically found to offer many disease-fighting effects.
