(Newswire.net — May 4, 2022) Orlando, FL — One of the most natural things about being human is to feel sexual desire. Scientists are investigating this particular emotion to see how understanding it could help come up with treatments for sexual disorders.

A research group, spearheaded by a professor of psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, carried out a study.

In this research, it has been found that individual differences in human sexual desire may be attributed to genetic variations.

This study represents the collaborative work of researchers, directed by Prof. Richard P. Ebstein, of Herzog Hospital and the head of the Scheinfeld Center for Human Genetics in the Social Sciences of the Psychology Department at the Hebrew University, and a research group headed by Prof. Robert H. Belmaker of the Psychiatry Division of the Ben Gurion University of the Negev.

Data showed that there are common variations in the DNA sequence that affect sexual desire, arousal, and even function. They also result in the differences and diversity of the human sexual phenotype.

The findings of this research may represent a revolutionary change in the manner that society and particularly psychology may come to regard this central element of human behavior.

Sexual desire is an important part of being human. Unfortunately today, there are many people who suffer from sexual health issues. Sexual dysfunction, for instance, affects 43 percent of women and 31 percent of men.

It often prevents people from getting satisfaction from sexual activity. It could happen in a form of a lack of sexual desire or interest in sex or arousal disorders. Arousal disorders pertain to the inability to get physically aroused or thrilled during sexual activity.

It could also be a delay or absence of orgasm or pain while having sexual intercourse.

There are various remedies found to be useful in enhancing sexual desire and performance. There are even spices like the deep yellow-orange one called turmeric, which is loaded with a range of therapeutic ingredients.

Turmeric has a phytochemical called curcumin, which is being researched widely by researchers. This phytochemical has been studied extensively due to its remarkable healing benefits.

According to various research studies carried out in the past, curcumin has genoprotective, antifungal, adaptogenic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticarcinogenic, antiproliferative, antiviral, renoprotective, insulin-sensitizing, androgenic, antifibrotic, neurorestorative, and metal-chelating properties.

It also contains an anticoagulant, antiseptic, anti-platelet, antioxidant, anti-amyloidogenic, anti-cytotoxic, antibiotic, antimicrobial, anti-purulent, immunomodulating, and anti-catabolic agents.
