(Newswire.net — May 19, 2022) Orlando, FL — The scientific community continues to carry out research studies investigating the various aspects of bipolar disorder. It has even been shown to be associated with brain health issues.

A study was published in Neurology, which is the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

In this study, it has been found that individuals with bipolar disorder may be more susceptible to Parkinson’s disease later in life than those without the mental health issue.

In this study, the researchers looked into a national Taiwanese health database for individuals diagnosed with bipolar disorder between 2001 and 2009. It involved a total of 56,340 people without a history of Parkinson’s disease.

The investigators matched them with the control group consisting of 225,360 people of the same age, sex, and other factors who had never been diagnosed with bipolar disorder or Parkinson’s disease as a control group.

According to study author Mu-Hong Chen, MD, Ph.D., of Taipei Veterans General Hospital in Taiwan, previous studies have shown a relationship between depression and Parkinson’s disease, but few studies have looked at whether there is a relationship between bipolar disorder and Parkinson’s.

More particularly, those who were hospitalized more often for bipolar disorder were more prone to developing Parkinson’s disease compared to those who were hospitalized less than once per year.

Subjects who were hospitalized more than twice every year were six times more susceptible to developing Parkinson’s disease than those who were hospitalized less than once per year.

The study was supported by Taipei Veterans General Hospital and the Taiwanese Ministry of Science and Technology.

Today, scientists continue to carry out studies to look into the various ways in protecting and enhancing mental health. There have been quite a number of studies showing that an Ayurvedic herb called ashwagandha may be helpful.

Ashwagandha is particularly known for its stress-fighting benefits. It has strong antioxidant properties that aid in enhancing and protecting brain health. Intake of this natural remedy may be significantly helpful for individuals who want to increase their mental health protection.

It is also important to stress that this natural remedy is linked with other brain health benefits. It is widely used nowadays via supplementation not just in taking better care of brain health, but also in warding off a myriad of diseases.

One of the most recommended formulas is Divine Bounty Ashwagandha, which is popularized widely for its high potency and purity. This formula is even equipped with black pepper, which increases ashwagandha absorption inside the body.

Divine Bounty Ashwagandha may be an excellent choice for individuals who want to enhance their mental health (https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Ashwagandha-Capsules-Absorption-Ashwaganda/dp/B072KFLL6X).
