Nutrition Has Better Effects on Bone Strength Than Exercise

This research also reveals that diet alone has beneficial impacts on the bone, even in the absence of exercise. This was surprising to Kohn, which expected that exercise with a normal diet would fuel greater gains in bone strength. However, it wasn’t the case. 

“The data suggests the long-term consumption of the mineral-supplemented diet could be beneficial in preventing the loss of bone and strength with age, even if you don’t do exercise training,” he said.
