In this study, the researchers had 226 men and women with generalized anxiety disorder randomly assigned to three groups, namely CBT, Kundalini yoga, or stress-management education, a standardized control technique.

After three months, it has been shown that CBT and yoga were significantly more effective in reducing anxiety than stress management. The researchers also found that 54 percent of the individuals who engaged in yoga were able to meet the response criteria for meaningfully improved symptoms. 

Further in the stress-education group, only 33 percent of the subjects experienced similar improvements.
