Researchers Warn Noisy Knees May Be Indicative of Knee Osteoarthritis

( — June 13, 2022) Orlando, FL — Osteoarthritis is undeniably common today, especially in the United States. It is worth noting that this painful joint disease could produce symptoms early on that people should be warned against.

According to a study, having noisy knees may actually be an early sign of knee osteoarthritis.

This research utilized data from the Osteoarthritis Initiative, which is a multi-center observational study of nearly 3500 participants.

It particularly indicates that individuals who hear cracking, grating, or popping sounds in or around the knee joint may be at a heightened risk of developing knee osteoarthritis. Among those who developed it within one year, over 75 percent already had signs of osteoarthritis on radiographic images but without frequent knee pain at the start of the study.

The results of this research may be useful in identifying people at risk for knee osteoarthritis, and may potentially be helpful for earlier diagnosis and intervention.

“Many people who have signs of osteoarthritis on x-rays do not necessarily complain of pain, and there are no known strategies for preventing the development of pain in this group of people,” said Dr. Grace Lo.

Dr. Lo is the lead author of the Arthritis Care & Research study and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

“This study suggests that if these people have noisy knees, they are at higher risk for developing pain within the next year compared with the people who do not have noisy knees. Future studies that target people who have x-ray signs of osteoarthritis, and who do not complain of pain but do report noisy knees, hold the promise of identifying interventions that can prevent knee pain.”

While it is true that osteoarthritis has no known cure yet, there are many ways to manage this condition. Making dietary and lifestyle modifications is vital for disease management.

There are also remedies like the use of glucosamine that have been found to be helpful for cartilage repair and pain relief. Glucosamine has long been researched due to its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving benefits.

Many osteoarthritis sufferers even resort to its use as a safer alternative to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which are notoriously linked with side effects.

Today, formulas like VitaBreeze Glucosamine are widely resorted to by OA sufferers. Aside from having superior-quality and potent glucosamine, it also has chondroitin, MSM, and turmeric.

VitaBreeze Glucosamine could be an excellent choice for individuals who want to benefit from the healing goodness of this remedy (
