The Immune System May Help Combat COVID-19 Reinfection for Six Months or Longer

(Newswire.net — July 20, 2022) Orlando, FL — Covid-19 has undeniably claimed and changed lives. There are many aspects of the virus that experts are investigating, and these include the scope of immunity against it.

It has been known for some time that immunity to Covid-19 may follow after recovery. However, a more detailed and interesting discovery about it is revealed by a study.

The research was carried out and it was published in Nature.

In this study, the researchers found that the immune system actually mounts a lasting defense following Covid-19 recovery.

This Rockefeller study reveals that individuals who recover from Covid-19 maintain immunity against the virus for a minimum of six months, or even longer.

This study shows the strongest evidence that the immune system has the ability to remember the virus. Further, it tends to enhance the quality of antibodies even after the infection has waned.

It is worth realizing that antibodies produced months following the infection have been found to increase the ability to block SARS-CoV-2. Further, these include mutated versions such as the South African variant.

Immune cells manufacture enhanced antibodies that have kept evolving. This, according to experts, may be due to continued exposure to the remnants of the virus hidden in the gut tissue.

Scientists conjecture that upon another encounter with the virus of a recovered patient, there would be a faster and more effective response and this prevents re-infection.

According to Michel C. Nussenzweig, this is really exciting news.

Nussenzweig is the Zanvil A. Cohn and Ralph M. Steinman Professor and head of the Laboratory of Molecular Immunology.

“The type of immune response we see here could potentially provide protection for quite some time, by enabling the body to mount a rapid and effective response to the virus upon re-exposure,” he adds.

Nussenzweig’s team has been tracking and characterizing antibody response among patients of Covid-19 since the early days of the pandemic in New York.

More studies are still being carried out to look into the various aspects of immune system health, especially in these times of global health crisis.

Experts also unceasingly recommend taking the most proven measures in boosting the body’s defenses. This could be significantly helpful in increasing the odds of survival in cases of Covid-19 transmission.

There are many ways to boost the body’s defenses, and these include the use of dietary supplements like Divine Bounty Curcumin.

Curcumin has been found by studies to have strong immunity-boosting potentials.

It has adaptogenic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticarcinogenic, antiproliferative, antiviral, renoprotective, insulin-sensitizing, neurorestorative, and metal-chelating properties.

It also contains anti-platelet, antioxidant, anti-amyloidogenic, anti-cytotoxic, antibiotic, antimicrobial, anti-purulent, immunomodulating, and anticatabolic agents (http://amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-BioPerine-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00VSVKJ8I).
