(Newswire.net — October 14, 2022) Orlando, FL — Multiple research studies have shed light on the negative health repercussions of carrying excess weight. It is worth noting that obesity is considered to be one of the world’s biggest killers.
New guidelines now highlight obesity prevention techniques in midlife women. Such guidelines focus on women between 40 and 60 years of age and aim at preventing unhealthy weight gain that can lead to serious illness.
These review papers and clinical guidelines were published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
“More than two-thirds of middle-aged women are overweight or obese. Given women’s increased risk for weight gain in midlife, there is a critical need for intervention aimed at preventing obesity and the host of serious health outcomes associated with it,” said Kimberly D. Gregory, MD, MPH.
Gregory is the corresponding author of the clinical guidelines and vice chair, of Women’s Healthcare Quality and Performance Improvement in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai.
She is also part of the Women’s Preventive Services Initiative (WPSI), which developed the recommendations based on the review of clinical trials, which involved nearly 52,000 middle-aged women.
“In the past, most studies and recommendations have focused on investigating the benefits and harms of weight-loss tools used by women who were already overweight. But as a prevention strategy, these new guidelines strongly encourage healthcare providers to begin addressing the issue of weight gain and obesity risk with patients who are at a normal weight,” said Gregory.
In the United States, obesity is considered an epidemic with around 42 percent of adults having a body mass index (BMI) of over 30.
Taking proven measures to manage a healthy weight is vital to stay disease-free. Over the years, researchers have been looking into the techniques potentially helpful for weight control.
There are actually certain kitchen ingredients found to have weight loss effects and these include turmeric.
This is due to the fact that this spice has a therapeutic compound called curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticarcinogenic, antiproliferative, antiviral, renoprotective, insulin-sensitizing, antioxidant, anti-amyloidogenic, anti-cytotoxic, antibiotic, antimicrobial, androgenic, antifibrotic, neurorestorative, and metal-chelating properties.
Studies have shown curcumin helps suppress inflammatory markers that are usually found elevated in individuals with obesity. Today, the weight loss benefits of this remedy are obtained widely through the use of formulas like VitaBreeze Curcumin.
This amazing formula is crafted carefully in an FDA-inspected facility in the U.S. and continues to receive positive reviews from satisfied customers.
