(Newswire.net — December 1, 2022) Orlando, FL — Experts have been stressing the relevance of protecting and enhancing hormonal health. It is worth noting that conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) are increasingly common around the world today.

PCOS is now found to be more common in overweight and obese Spanish women, who have been found to be five times as likely as lean women to have the condition. This hormone health issue lessens fertility and even contributes to the development of certain illnesses.

This paper may be viewed in the Archives of Internal Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.

According to experts, polycystic ovary syndrome develops when the ovaries malfunction and there are unusually high levels of the sex hormone androgen. It leads to symptoms like irregular or no menstrual periods and acne, as well as excess hair growth.

In addition to its implications for reproductive health, it is also correlated with sleep apnea, poor quality of life and he heightened risk for diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

While more than half of the patients with PCOS are obese, the prevalence of this hormonal health issue in overweight or obese women is unknown.

This research was carried out by Francisco Álvarez-Blasco, M.D., and colleagues at Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal, Madrid, Spain.

The investigators assessed 113 consecutive women who visited one hospital for weight loss treatment between May 2002 and December 2005. They were diagnosed with PCOS based on whether their ovaries were releasing eggs regularly.

“The prevalence of polycystic ovary syndrome was not statistically different when considering the degree of obesity, as classified according to the guidelines published by the National Institutes of Health,” the authors write.

The scientific community continues to carry out studies to investigate the various aspects of this condition.

Over the years, studies have been highlighting the treatment options for PCOS in addition to the use of pharmaceutical drugs. There are actually plant compounds like Diindolylmethane (DIM) that have been found particularly helpful.

This remedy has long been linked with a myriad of health benefits. In terms of battling PCOS, it has been found useful in normalizing hormone levels.

Accurately labeled and highly potent formulas like Purest Vantage DIM, which has 250mg Diindolylmethane Plus BioPerine and Dong Quai may be a useful source of this remedy. This formula is made in an FDA-inspected facility in the U.S.

There are many other brands in the market but this one from Purest Vantage is believed to be superior to others. (http://www.amazon.com/DIM-Diindolylmethane-250mg-Per-Capsule/dp/B072C46H29/?ie=UTF8&m=ANUIQ9C7FEL56&keywords=dim)
