(Newswire.net — December 12, 2022) Ste 177 Winnetka, IL, IL — The scientific community continues to carry out studies to look into not just the prevalence, but also other aspects of male infertility.

Experts now warn against the impacts of climate change on male infertility. This new research from the University of East Anglia reveals that heatwaves have the ability to damage sperm in insects, producing negative effects on fertility across generations.

The findings of this research were published in the Nature Communications journal.

The investigating team has particularly revealed that male infertility during heatwaves may shed light on why climate change is having such an effect on species populations, including climate-related extinctions in recent years.

“We know that biodiversity is suffering under climate change, but the specific causes and sensitivities are hard to pin down,” research group leader Prof Matt Gage said.

“We’ve shown in this work that sperm function is an especially sensitive trait when the environment heats up, and in a model system representing a huge amount of global biodiversity.”

It is worth noting that since sperm function is vital for reproduction and population viability, these study results could offer an explanation for why biodiversity is suffering under climate change.

“A warmer atmosphere will be more volatile and hazardous, with extreme events like heatwaves becoming increasingly frequent, intense, and widespread.”

Heatwaves are found to be particularly damaging to extreme weather events. Further, when temperature changes get too intense, local extinctions are even known to take place.

In this study, the investigators looked into the red flour beetle (Tribolium castaneum) for the purpose of exploring the effects of simulated heatwaves on male reproduction. They exposed beetles to either standard control conditions or heatwave temperatures, which were 5°C to 7°C above their thermal optimum for five days.

The work was funded by Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and the EnvEast DTP, UEA, and the Leverhulme Trust.

Time and again experts say that various measures are helpful in boosting male fertility. These include the therapeutic potentials of all-natural remedies like ashwagandha, which is loaded with therapeutic ingredients.

A scientific review of four studies has shown that ashwagandha intake significantly enhanced semen volume, sperm concentration, and sperm motility in men with low sperm counts.

Carefully-crafted formulas like NutraHerbals Ashwagandha are widely resorted to by health-conscious consumers today.

One of the best benefits of this formula is that offers 1200 mg of pure ashwagandha root powder plus certified USDA organic black pepper extract for increased absorption.
