iPhone or Android? Which One Is Better for Gaming

(Newswire.net — December 7, 2022) — While Android and iOS are far from the only mobile operating systems on the market, they comprise more than 95% of the market share, so it’s only fair to compare the two at the top. The debate over which is better for gaming is seemingly endless, and rightfully so. Both offer so much, and it usually comes down to one’s preferences. But, to make a decision, one needs to get familiar with the pros and flaws of both.

Whether you are a lover of Android or Apple, there’s no denying that when you play your favorite games on your mobile, you want the best gaming experience possible. With Android and iOS constantly introducing new and improved features, it can be quite tricky to figure out which one is best for you.

Luckily, no matter what you choose between the two, you can not make a big mistake. There are a couple of basic things you should consider when looking for a smartphone to play mobile games, three main ones being:

  1. Battery life
  2. Storage space
  3. Large HD screen display

By far, the worst thing that can happen when playing your favorite mobile game, such as the new Among Us version, is your phone shuts down because it ran out of battery. This is why it’s vital that you check the battery capacity of your potential phone.

Moreover, as a mobile gaming enthusiast, your phone must have a lot of storage space. There’s nothing more frustrating than going to an app store to download a new game only to receive a message that your storage is full and that you need to delete some games in order to try out the new ones.

Finally, the mobile gaming industry has grown tremendously over the years, and one aspect that gamer enthusiasts have come to expect between Android and Apple is a more enjoyable gaming experience. The big question is, which one provides a more satisfying experience?

Availability of Games

Generally, both Google Play Store and Apple Store have more than a million apps available, 25% of which are game titles. As for now, the Google Play store has around a million more apps than the App store, but that does not necessarily make it a better option. As you might already know, the android game library has gained the reputation of having lots of junk.

On the other side, iOS and Apple are a bit more discerning when it comes to what they allow in their library, therefore, you will see more high-quality games. Given the fact that quality is typically more appreciative than quantity, at least when it comes to games, we must give the crown for this category to Apple.

Performance and Affordability

Similar to a PC, you need a powerful processor and GPU if you want to play high-graphic mobile games. The latest processor released in 2017 that powers high-end Android smartphones is Snapdragon 835. This processor is 30% more efficient, 40% less battery-consuming, and 25% more powerful in 3D performance than Snapdragon 821.

On the other hand, Apple’s newest A10 Fusion processor is 40% faster,  has a 50% increase in GPU performance, and is overall better than the A9 processor.

When it comes to price, both Android and iPhone are pretty expensive phones, that is, if we are looking at their newer releases. As for the cost of games available, if you are mainly interested in free games, then we recommend you buy an Android smartphone.

On the other hand, if you are not afraid to spend a couple of bucks for an amazing mobile game experience, then we recommend you buy an iPhone. Paid games at the Apple store, from racing to puzzles, are superior to what you find at the Google Play store for free.

Battery Life and Storage

As you may already know, a good mobile gaming experience starts with good battery life and big storage to have all your favorite games in one place. Naturally, games that require an internet connection and high graphics typically take in a lot of battery life. While iPhone batteries are not as big and long-lasting as Android, they are still decent for gaming.

On the other hand, when it comes to storage, Apple is a clear winner. The Android phones come with decent amounts of storage space and removable memory cards one can upgrade to give them more space to store games.

When it comes to storage space on iOS, one can choose a small 16GB device, all the way up to 512GB. However, the bigger the storage, the more expensive the phone.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to one’s preferences, wants, and needs. It’s ultimately up to the individual to weigh out the pros and cons and decide for themselves.
