A Study Warns Against Link In Between Obesity and Hormone Imbalance

(Newswire.net — December 22, 2022) Orlando, FL — Multiple research studies have highlighted the roles that hormones play inside the body and in the various aspects of health. Health experts have long recommended ensuring that the body maintains hormonal balance.

A study now warns against the link between obesity and hormone imbalance. This research was based on a study of the two-year morbidity of severely obese men who underwent undergoing Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery.

“Previous studies have found that obesity is correlated to lower sperm count and can be associated with infertility, but we wanted to know if obesity was biologically associated with an unsatisfying sex life, and if so, could it be reversible,” said Dr. Ahmad Hammoud, MD.

Hammoud is from the University of Utah and the lead author of the study.

“Our results show that the answer to both questions may be yes.”

In this research, scientists tracked 64 men in a span of two years who participated in the Utah Obesity Study. They measured the BMI, weight, and reproductive hormone levels of the subjects at the onset of the study and once more two years later.

“In our study population, we found that lower testosterone levels and diminished ratings for sexual quality of life were correlated with increased BMI,” said Dr. Hammoud.

“Subjects who lost weight through bariatric surgery experienced a reduction in estradiol levels, an increase in testosterone levels, and an increase in ratings of sexual quality of life.”

The study points out that the study findings highlight a correlation between the sexual quality of life and hormonal measures independent of weight.

The scientific community continues to carry out studies to look into the impacts of hormonal imbalance on the various aspects of health.

Over the years, scientists have been investigating the remedies potentially beneficial for hormone balance. There is a plant indole called Diindolylmethane, or DIM found to be potentially helpful.

It can be found in cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower, and is widely resorted to through supplementation today.  Some studies have demonstrated this remedy works in the body’s hormones to ensure their balance.

There are superior-strength supplements like Purest Vantage DIM that are widely resorted to by consumers today. In addition to having 250 mg of DIM, it also has added ingredients like BioPerine and Dong Quai.

Purest Vantage DIM is crafted carefully according to strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines in an FDA-inspected facility in the U.S. It is made even more beneficial through the money-back guarantee it comes with. (www.amazon.com/DIM-Diindolylmethane-250mg-Per-Capsule/dp/B072C46H29)
