Exercise and nutrition expert Fitness Fahrenheit released a guide providing information on hand grippers, which are low-cost pieces of equipment used for developing strength and grip.
Fitness Fahrenheit’s new guide aims to educate individuals about the advantages and disadvantages of hand grippers and help them make an informed decision when choosing exercise equipment. The guide also recommends some of the better hand grippers on the market today.

In its latest report, Fitness Fahrenheit says hand grippers have been a preferred grip training because of their affordability and availability. “A lot of exercise equipment can be pretty overpriced, so having something that is much more accessible is a great option,” the guide notes. “You get the finger and wrist benefits of exercises like static holds, plate pinches, and dead hangs, while also getting the forearm and bicep flexion.”
Hand grippers are simple tools used to improve strength, grip, and dexterity in the fingers, palms, wrists, and forearms. Generally speaking, their design includes two handles attached to a torsion spring in the middle. When the handles are squeezed together the tension and resistance created by the spring exercises the hand, wrist, and arm. Historically, they have been used as a replacement or supplement to dumbbell and barbell exercises.
For optimal results, the guide recommends the GRM Hand Grip Strengthener. As far as hand grippers are concerned, it is one of the more versatile options on the market and comes with a grip ring and stress relief ball. Another option is the GD Iron Grip Hand Gripper, which features an adjustable resistance setting. More traditional options like the Captains Of Crush Hand Gripper have also been reviewed by the expert in the guide.
Fitness Fahrenheit notes that while hand grippers provide many benefits on their own, they ideally should be used in addition to regular exercising and workouts. Because of their limited capabilities, they can often be overused and eventually lose their effectiveness, so regulating their use is important.
The guide recommends that hand grippers be used three times a week at most. Moreover, it suggests that they be used immediately after working out the upper body, back, and arms: this way, the performance of these exercises isn’t negatively affected.
