The recently announced training programs combine several effective techniques to form a comprehensive curriculum, which participants can adapt to fit their own schedules and learning styles. Though each course will vary, most Dermysk Academy courses include online learning modules that users can complete at their own pace, as well as in-person training and experience.

The Dermysk Academy suggests that this mixed media training strategy offers several benefits, such as allowing many students to enroll that may not have otherwise had the time. By making the courses available at any time, for students to learn at their own pace, the Academy has made the courses more accessible for single parents and individuals that may work another job.

There are 6 courses currently being offered in Toronto, beginning with the Basic Medical Aesthetics program, which provides an overview of the industry, information about the most commonly used procedures, and one week of hands-on training with a specialist. This beginner class also features 7 online modules for students to learn at their own pace and requires either a high school education or relevant work experience.

The basic course also covers many of the tools used for medical aesthetic procedures. After completing the course, students should expect to be skilled in several popular procedures, such as chemical peels, fractional ablation, and laser tattoo removal. Students will also learn about hygiene, safety, and a range of basic business strategies commonly used in the industry.

More advanced courses from the Dermysk Academy will certify students in procedures such as body sculpting, vampire lifts, carbon peels, and advanced injection techniques. A full list of the available courses, certifications, and prerequisites can be found on the Dermysk Academy website.

Though complications are rare, the courses also include several modules on how to recognize clinical complications, and the best practices when a problem occurs.

One satisfied student explained, “I was surprised by how practical and personalized the courses were. The innovative and modern approach to education helped me gain unique insights into the industry.”
