After its successful Kickstarter and Indiegogo fundraising campaign, Carsifi — a convenient wireless Android Auto adapter — is now available on the market.

The recently released device is focused on simplicity, wirelessly connecting smartphones to cars that do not have built-in WiFi systems. Moreover, it can be paired with various phones and users can cycle through profiles with the click of a button.

Ihor Martsekha, founder of the startup, says the multi-profile feature makes Carsifi ideal for families that share a vehicle. The dongle also comes with a companion app that walks users through the installation process to make it even more seamless.

Industry experts predict that 70% of light-duty vehicles and trucks will be internet-connected by 2023. However, the rising costs of car ownership — which reached a record $48,094 this year — may prevent many families from accessing useful apps like Android Auto.

Martsekha adds: “Android Auto can be a game-changer — assuming your vehicle can use it. With our adapter, even older and less premium cars can use the full suite of services that Google developed. Furthermore, you can do so at a much lower cost than upgrading your automobile itself.”

Knowing that family members of all ages and driving experience will use Carsifi, it was designed with ease of installation in mind. Indeed, the entire setup can be completed in just three steps. Users need only to plug in the dongle to their entertainment system, pair their smartphone with the device, and launch Android Auto on their dashboard. Drivers only have to go through this process once and Carsifi will automatically connect with Android phones afterward.

In addition to simplifying connectivity through Carsifi, Martsekha says that being able to use Android apps from the dashboard lessens distracted driving — one of the leading causes of vehicular accidents. With the device, motorists can use their voice to launch turn-by-turn navigation or initiate phone calls without lifting their hands off the wheel. Such a feature is especially useful for younger drivers who have less experience on the road and are more prone to distractions.

Carsifi is compatible with Android 9 out of the box and comes with a companion app for older versions of the mobile operating system. The company offers worldwide shipping.
