OpenUp Windows has launched a new line of sill-less pass-through awning windows for commercial properties.

The new awning windows are designed to be suitable for use in dining establishments and other commercial service areas. Customers have the option to upgrade from standard glass to double-insulated tempered glass with full UV protection.

Unlike many conventional awning windows, which can only open at a 45-degree angle, OpenUp’s latest pass-through windows use gas strut technology to maintain an open position at 90 degrees, creating an active access point between different spaces. Because OpenUp’s windows lack sills, they can be mounted onto existing structures, allowing clients to repurpose countertops for kitchen conversions or install the windows into walls to connect different rooms together.

Each window is developed using heavy extruded tubular aluminum for its structure; this high-grade aluminum is more durable than standard aluminum, contributing to the longevity of the product. The sash interiors and frames of the windows are made from Accoya wood, a sustainably sourced material that resists termites and other damaging pests; it can also withstand different weather conditions, and it enhances the aesthetic value of the window by providing it with a natural finish. As both aluminum and Accoya are renewable, OpenUp’s windows can be completely recycled at the end of their lifespan.

OpenUp offers their windows in many sizes and will work closely with the client to accommodate any custom feature requests, such as retractable insect screens, argon gas insulation, and coatings to reduce the window’s solar heat gain coefficient.
