The announcement shares details of this innovative device which is now available for purchase through the Desk Jockey web store. The Tens Unit Simulator’s companion app enables users to track their results, allowing for measurement and comparison of one’s pain scale before and after a treatment session and over time.

TENS, which stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, sends small electrical signals into the skin. These intercept pain signals before they can reach the brain and stimulate the release of endorphins. The current is delivered via pads that are attached to the affected area of the body. The treatment may be able to help those suffering from conditions like arthritis, sciatica, pelvic, back, neck, and knee pain, and sports injuries.

Compatible with both iOS and Android devices, the device uses Bluetooth to control the intensity of the electrical pulses. The app interface offers intuitive controls and a variety of adjustable parameters. The latest version features a ‘Burst’ mode which may be of particular help to men suffering from sciatic nerve pain.

The iTENS unit comes with a charging station and a pioneering wing design that offers 360 degrees of movement. These are thin and flexible, providing a full range of motion, and also feature a laser-printed silver conductive surface.

The product joins Desk Jockey’s extensive collection of pain relief accessories and devices. These include the Dynamic Wedge Cervical traction machine and the company’s range of lumbar support cushions.

A spokesperson says, “The iTENS stimulator is the first FDA-cleared, OTC, wireless TENS therapy device that is controlled with an IOS or Android-based app on your smartphone. Generation 2 devices have been upgraded to include compatibility with even more smartphones and tablets.”
