Plaskolite LLC, here we grow again…

   Early in the 1950’s, Plaskolite started their plastic business producing Hula Hoop

s and drinking straws. Within 20 years they had transitioned into producing Prismatic Lighting panels and extruded smooth Acrylic sheets. In the late 1970’s they started to produce their own polymer raw materials to make their Acrylic sheets. 

   Plaskolite grew their brand by producing excellent Acrylic sheet while also acquiring other Acrylic sheet producers and Acrylic mirror companies. Some of the Acrylic sheet producers acquired are: Continental Acrylics and the manufacturing facility of Lucite International. Later acquiring the continuous cast line of Lucite®, Pexco and the lighting sheet of Rotuba.  

   In the early 2000’s, Plaskolite built a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Zanesville, OH. This 245,000 square foot factory is by far one of the cleanest and most pristine factories that you would ever see.

   During the ‘2010 to present’ time frame, Plaskolite acquired the Vivak® PETG production from Bayer, and later the North American Polycarbonate sheet business from Covestro. 

   Plaskolite also acquired the production of Mir-Acryl® mirror acrylic sheet and Bunker Plastics mirror acrylic sheet during the 1990 – 2005 time frame.

   These acquisitions squarely put Plaskolite as the leading manufacturer of thermoplastic sheets. Their reputation for providing high quality products and a superior customer service staff have helped Plaskolite become the leaders in the industry. Plaskolite is now the leading manufacturer of Acrylic, Polycarbonate, ABS, PETG and Acrylic Mirrored sheet, and performance enhancing hard coatings. In addition to Acrylic sheet production, they also produce quality Acrylic polymers for the industry.

   The latest and perhaps most exciting change to the industry is the acquisition of Vycom, a subsidiary of The Azek Company. Vycom is located in Scranton, PA and is known for producing a wide range of Olefin and PVC thermoplastic products.
