Tips to make landscape photography better: Take a good Photoshop course:

If you want to create a dramatic landscape, then photoshop could be your companion on this journey. There isn’t anything that has more power than stunning photographs of natural scenery. The beautiful scenes give us a sense of joy, wonder, magic, and beauty. But there are a lot of other avenues to explore by using Photoshop that can make the image even more stunning and exciting.

“Try new Photoshop tools and techniques and explore your options.”

There are many ways to make landscape photography more balanced, bright, and eye-catching in photoshop.

Paint colors into the sunset:

Paining in Photoshop is the most effective technique that helps to enhance colours. For instance, if there is water and sky in the picture, then paint pink and orange in that area. Here are the following steps to follow for this:

Select paintbrush

Change the opacity to 100% and hardness to 0

Click on the foreground colour

It is located at the bottom left side of the toolbar

Paint sunset

While painting, try not to affect other areas

Change the blend mode to soft light

Change the opacity to create a strong contrast effect

If you want to subdue an object from your image, use the gradient mask. It helps to make the natural transition between layers.

Always shoot images in RAW format

“The RAW format is like a primer for photoshop that helps make changes in exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, etc.”

If you already take RAW landscape images, you can stop reading this guide. The beauty of landscape photos is in the RAW format because it preserves all the data that the camera lens collects. However, there is a big difference between RAW format and jpg. Moreover, the RAW format lets you make more alterations and non-destructive changes to your image.

Use curve adjustment:

You will always see the curve adjustment layer covered in photoshop training as it is the professional way to improve contrast. So, if your landscape photography is too bright and has low contrasting light, then use a curve adjustment layer; if you manipulate the curves, then the photo will be with more contrast. If there is more contrast in the image, then the image will look more appealing, reflective, and visually appealing.

Play with color balance layer:

Every photo editor must make the colours more balanced. However, you can use the HIGHLIGHTS & SHADOWS settings to adjust the colors. Creating a colour balance layer is vital to give the image a more serene look. Moreover, you can use the saturation adjustment to reduce the saturation. Apart from this, here are some other great tips to make your landscape photography better.

Use the quick selection tool.
