(Newswire.net — November 18, 2014) — When the media released claims last week of victim accusing Bill Cosby of rape, that was not something new. The legendary actor has survived several similar accusations within last seven years. No one, however, expected that a second women would show up with same accusations within the same week.
Music industry publicist and journalist Joan Tarshis is the second woman within a week to claims she was raped after Cosby put something in her drink. Cosby and Tarshis spent time together as coworkers at Universal Studios back in 1969. She claims Cosby was pursuing her, but she tried to act professionally. One night at his bungalow, she accepted cocktail Cosby made for her and passed out, she said.
“The next thing I remember was coming to on his couch while being undressed,” Tarshis wrote. “I thought I was being clever when I told him I had an infection and he would catch it and his wife would know he had sex with someone. But he just found another orifice to use. I was sickened by what was happening to me and shocked that this man I had idolized was now raping me. Of course I told no one.”
That was, however, only the first time. Allegedly, Cosby raped Tarishis another time when they were drinking while attending an event at a music theater. The same pattern occurred. Cosby gave her a drink then she regains consciousness hours latter, naked in his bed.
The reason why she decided to come forward after four decades was more and more rape victims had come forward with the same accusations. “The time is right to join them,” Tarshis said.
The Bill Cosby rape chapter was reopened after several years when one of Cosby’s accusers, Barbara Bowman, wrote in the Washington Post “Bill Cosby raped me. Why did it take 30 years for people to believe my story?” She was drugged then raped, however, she newer saw the drug, she said.
Prior to last week alleged rape accusation, Cosby posted picture of him self on his twitter account asking people to ‘meme’ him. That little PR stunt backfired as people started recall the sexual allegations making fun of his replicas from The Cosby Show.
Cosby removed his Twitter post and refused to address the new allegations made against him. His representative released Sunday a close for comment statement on his website after canceling an appearance on CBS’ “Late Show With David Letterman” repudiating the claims.
Beside settling a civil suit with Andrea Constand in 2004, who claimed Cosby drugged and sexually molested her, Cosby has never been charged for any alleged crimes.
