(Newswire.net — March 3, 2017) — Louisville, KY- Trucking is one of those national resources that is often taken for granted, even when it comes to transportation.

The majority of consumers expect to see a variety of products when they visit the grocery store, but rarely one wonders how those goods got on the shelf. But it doesn’t take long to establish one absolute fact – they got there because a truck delivered them. Saying that the trucking industry is the backbone of the U.S. economy does not sound far-fetched.

Those who have studied the heavy-duty trucking industry will not be surprised to hear that it is considered to be the lifeblood of the U.S. economy. Virtually all U.S. goods touch a truck at one point during their supply chain journey. The statistics indicate 10.5 billion tons moved annually, requiring 38 billion gallons of diesel fuel.

No one can argue against the fact that trucking is literally the driving force of supply chains worldwide.

“Trucking delivers America. Unfortunately, we are one of those essentials that is taken for granted precisely because we are so consistent and so reliable.”, says Bill Graves, chief executive officer of the American Trucking Associations (ATA), who believes that the trucking industry is an important contributor to the quality of life in the U.S. Trucking contributes to 5% of GDP, according to Forbes Custom reports.

However, with more than 30,000,000 registered commercial trucks in the United States, the industry remains highly competitive.

If the engine of the U.S. economy doesn’t remain financially strong, the entire country’s economy is put at risk. Like most industries today, the trucking industry is also heavily pressured to develop sustainable practices and decrease its footprint, leading to new laws being imposed and having to follow new trends, each of which result in additional costs.

Therefore, ATA advises the members of its industry to stay up to date with new products that are developed as a result of these industry issues, as well as to keep close and lasting quality relationships with their suppliers and distributors.

One such opportunity is provided at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS), where the entire industry can be experienced under one roof – covering well over one million square feet.

With the continued support of the trucking industry, a private management group formed by Paul K. Young created the largest and most diversified trucking show in North America. MATS was founded in 1972, when it included only 83 exhibitors, including industry leaders. These days, that number is closer to 1,000…if not larger. Over more than four decades, MATS has grown to become the largest annual heavy-duty trucking industry event in the world.

During three action-packed days, attendees will not only have the opportunity to enquire about the latest industry innovations, but also to get involved in numerous ways, such as a “ride and drive” experience.

Seminars will be held to provide companies, fleets and trucking professionals with valuable and constructive information on how to improve their business.

The events include PKY truck beauty championship, the largest grouping of show trucks in the U.S.

MATS will also provide a complementary concert for its attendees on Friday.

MATS organizers invite industry members to gain new insights, improve their existing practices and expand their existing business, by taking advantage of valuable networking opportunities with thousands of industry peers.

The 2017 Mid-America Trucking Show will be in Louisville, KY, at the Kentucky Expo Center, from March 23 to March 25, 2017.
