(Newswire.net — May 2, 2017) — The group that studies the paranormal, posted on YouTube a video about some object, which they claim is wood residues from Mars, also known as the Red Planet.
According to a comment accompanying the footage, posted by YouTuber Paranormal Crucible, “this Intriguing object is around three feet in height, and with numerous discoveries of plant and animal life on mars, it would be logical to assume, that a variety of tree either existed, or still exists on this enigmatic planet.”
”This object definitely looks out of place and in my opinion could be the petrified remnants of a Martian tree,” the YouTuber wrote.
People like him think it is a logical assumption bearing in mind NASA’s statement that the Red Planet was Earth-like when the solar blast struck the planet. Also, NASA said Mars has the right type of soil to grow plants.
”It is a good assumption since NASA themselves said Mars was Earth-like when a solar explosion hit the planet, stripping the atmosphere and oceans from the surface,” said UFO detective Scott C Waring.
However, a few comments below the video, which NASA recorded on March 25 this year, writes that this is not a fossilized tree stump jutting out of the surface of Mars, but some kind of rock.
”So you people think a tree with clear signs of bark would last for millions of years if not longer? It’s a god damn rock!,” says one of the many comments.
The footage was taken by the Mars Curiosity Rover, a car-sized robotic rover exploring Gale Crater on Mars as part of NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory mission. That vehicle has been on the Red Planet since August 2012, and covers only about nine miles.
This is not the first time some unidentified flying object hunters come out with such wacky theories about Mars.
Two years ago, UFO hunters claimed that they had identified a mysterious object in the shape of a woman on a photo also published by NASA.
