(Newswire.net — October 6, 2013) Kaysville, UT — Combine a few planks of wood and some specialty hardware and what do you get?  Two local entrepreneurs, Chase Norton and Daniel Wright, used just that to create one of the most explosive new businesses in the Top of Utah.  NW Artisan Hardware received the Utah Student Emerging Companies award from The Utah Student 25 this past March.  This award labels them as “a stellar company with less than six months in operation.”

Utah Student 25 is an organization that recognizes businesses started and run by full-time students across the state.  For the past four years, they have gathered information from university student entrepreneurs to compile a list of the top 25 businesses of the year.  In addition, they honor a select few businesses that are up and coming, but have not been around for more than six months.  Attending school full time, while also running a successful company, is quite a feat and definitely worthy of recognition.

The 2013 Utah Student 25 business owners were honored at an awards gala on Thursday, March 14.  Gathering at the Rice-Eccles Tower on the University of Utah campus in Salt Lake City, university student entrepreneurs shared their diverse businesses and celebrated the positive impact they are having on our current economy.  Not only are they creating products and services that the public at large are looking for, they are also creating jobs for our state.

NW Artisan Hardware, one of the businesses honored, opened for business in October of 2012.  Inspired by the rustic look currently popular in interior decorating, they initially created barn door hardware kits to sell over the Internet.  The response to their designs was greater than they expected, and a little “side business” quickly became a major player in the online design marketplace.  In addition to barn doors, NW Artisan Hardware also sells decorative tables, bookshelves, bar stools and more.  All with the artisan touch and rustic feel they have come to be known for.

Although NW Artisan Hardware is a fairly new company, you can find their unique, affordable products anywhere from Amazon to Ebay to their newly re-designed website:  nwartisanhardware.com.  Their website is full of pictures of the many things these two creative businessmen have been able to do with just a few planks of wood and some specialty hardware.  This just goes to show that sometimes small and simple things really can become something great.  Congratulations to all the other businesses honored this year by Utah Student 25!
