A little over a year ago, a group of artists got together and created a stunning book called “We Make Stuff: Volume 01” The book graphically showcases and tells the stories of 100 local Vancouver artists. Since the release of the book the We Make Stuff group has been holding periodic events at local art studios all with the help of artist and Mission Possible employee Jenny Hawkinson.

On Friday, May 30th at 7.00 pm the fifth installment of the We Make Stuff Studio Series will be held at Mission Possible StudioWorks (335 Princess, Vancouver). Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased at the door.

The evening will feature five well-known Metro Vancouver artists including: Chris Janzen (musician), JK Agudo (break dancer), Cheryl Bear (musician), Brian Liu (visual Artist), and Mission Possible’s very own Shelimar Lakowski (potter)

According to “We Make Stuff” founder David Vandas, “These events arose to stir the creative community in the Vancouver area; making space for local artists and appreciators to meet, dialogue, conspire and be inspired.”

Mission Possible StudioWorks is a studio space and gallery that seeks to inspire the creative energy of the DTES community.  Together novice and experienced painters, carvers, potters, sculptors, and musicians explore artistic expression and entrepreneurship as a pathway to lasting change.
