AMG Services Productions, a subsidiary of AMG Services Entertainment Inc., has hosted a string of well attended historic movie lot tours with the collaboration of the entertainment website MovieFavorites.Org. The sunset tours, dubbed “Hollywood at Dusk,” lasted two hour each and were held June 13th, 14th and 15th.
“The turnout for the tours exceeded our expectations,” said Morgan Fuller, representative for MovieFavorites.Org. “We had such a great turnout, that we have decided that we will be running the tours every summer, but will probably run them two weekends in a row.”
The tour also ran through the original location of Triangle Studios, which were constructed in 1915 and later became Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1924; the location served as MGM’s home through the Golden Age of Hollywood. The actors and actresses under contract to MGM included Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Joan Crawford, Elizabeth Taylor, Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland.
After Sony Corporation purchased Columbia Pictures Entertainment in 1989, major renovations were underway to turn the property into a state-of-the-art facility. Today, preservation efforts have turned the studio into a modern facility and an historic landmark, and a location seen on AMG Services “Hollywood at Dusk” tours.
