Headfirst Printing Expands Offerings with Water Based Inks

(Newswire.net — March 30, 2015) Plymouth, MI — Custom tshirt printer Headfirst Printing is expanding their current product offering to include eco-friendly water based inks and vibrant, colorful discharge inks.  These new inks will be offered alongside their traditional plastisol screen printing ink and cutting edge silicone ink offerings. 

Manager Patrick Kelleher says that discharge and water based inks have a softer feel and are more retail friendly. 

 

In addition to looking great, water based inks are a better, greener alternative to a traditional plastisol ink.  Kelleher says that with these inks the on press cleanup can be done with water, reducing the use of chemicals. 

 

“A traditional screen printing ink sits on the surface of the shirt.  This can often create a thick patch of ink that doesn’t breathe or absorb moisture.  Discharge inks work by replacing the color in the shirt with the color of the print.   After the shirt is washed you cannot even feel the print on the shirt,” says Kelleher.

 

Headfirst Printing, which is located in Plymouth, MI was the first shop in Michigan to offer silicone inks in 2013.  By adding a full range of discharge and water based inks Kelleher says that they are currently the only shop in the state of offer a full range of print techniques allowing for decoration that fits every type of apparel and every budget.
