(Newswire.net — April 26, 2016) Sugar Land,, TX — Lanny Wolfe, the American musician and Christian gospel artist, songwriter who founded the Lanny Wolfe-Trio, got featured in the March/April issue of Live It Loud Magazine. The magazine features several Christian artists in every issue. Live It Loud’s goal is to inform the public about the good news of Jesus Christ through different genres of Christian music.
The feature focused on Lanny’s feelings and experiences with his music. Lanny gave very detailed answers to the interview questions, revealing interesting facts about him. Randy Bowen, the interviewer, started out by asking how old Lanny was when he wrote his first song, to which he responded he was somewhere around 16 when he started. According to Lanny, he did not originally have aspirations of being a songwriter. Instead, he thought he would become an architect. However, songs came to him naturally and he did not have to spend a concentrated amount of time trying.
In the interview, Lanny talked about the greatest influences on his songwriting style. The complex chords and progressions in his songwriting were heavily influenced by John W. Peterson’s songs; the form of his songwriting style, which features simplicity and repetition, was influenced by Bill and Gloria Gaither; and his conversational style was influenced by Dottie Rambo. Audrey Meier and Dallas Holmes were among his greatest influences as well.
Lanny also enumerated a few songs which he feels have had the greatest impact. He stated that the most popular song in the church arena is “Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this Place”. His most well-known and loved song in the African-American community is “For God so Loved the World” and “Someone is Praying for You” in the Asian community. In the gospel music industry “More Than Wonderful” and “Greater Is He” have had the greatest impact.
Since the start of his songwriting career, Lanny has already written 700 songs and 14 musicals. His song “More Than Wonderful” won the Song of the Year award in the GMA Dove Awards in 1984. In the present, Lanny is serving as CEO for Paradigm Music Productions. He writes and conducts choir clinics at churches all over the United States and accompanies members of the original Lanny Wolfe Trio for reunion concerts as well.
Just recently, Lanny announced that he will be releasing his DVD TV specials as well as his albums on YouTube to give his fans easier access to his music and bring it to a wider international audience.
