Mesa Chamber Luncheon Unveils Veteran Business Program

(Newswire.net — August 15, 2016) Scottsdale, Arizona — Area business owners are invited to attend a luncheon on August 25, 2016 to learn about a new program designed to provide much-needed services to local veterans and their families through cause marketing funding. The luncheon hosted by the Mesa Chamber of Commerce will be held at Visit Mesa, 120 North Center Street, Mesa, Arizona, from noon until 1 p.m. Representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and from Heal the Hero Foundation will present a brief presentation to explain and shed the national spotlight on the combined initiative.

“We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to funding programs providing health, employment and education opportunities for our veterans and their families,” according to Joseph Holmes, the chief operations officer of Heal the Hero Foundation. “We anticipate that our veteran business program with Mesa Chamber of Commerce will expand the technologies and services available for military veterans in the Mesa area.”

The cause marketing program that attendees at the August 25 luncheon will learn about encourages local business owners to help themselves by helping others. The core concept of the program is represented by the Heal the Hero Foundation slogan, “Save A Life. Grow Your Business. Become A Hero.” 

Business owners and representatives will learn about the use of social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, to grow their businesses by associating themselves with the work of Heal the Hero Foundation. Participating businesses can develop and grow their brand, gain recognition within their local community and increase their market share while raising consumer awareness of a social issue that is present in most communities throughout the state of Arizona and throughout the country.

It is estimated that 31 percent of veterans return from overseas deployment suffering from some level of post-traumatic stress disorder, but only half of them receive the treatment they need. One of the military charity programs initiated by Heal the Hero Foundation, a crisis hotline, has taken almost a million telephone calls from veterans or members of their families seeking help and has provided life-saving assistance in more than 30,000 cases. 

Surveys show that cause driven business marketing can increase consumer loyalty by as much as 85 percent. Some business owners have experienced an increase in customer recommendations for their services and products after they committed to a marketing program that promotes a cause or addresses a social issue such as the fact that 7.4 million of the more than 22 million military veterans living in this country do not have jobs.
