Female Orgasm Research Underway

(Newswire.net — August 1, 2017) Fairhope, ALABAMA — In the season of National Orgasm Day, Dr. Andrew Goldstein opened enrollment of women for the study of the O-Shot® procedure for the treatment of female orgasmic disorder. The study was designed by Dr. Goldstein and by Dr. Charles Runels and was prompted by 3 previously published studies of this highly specific method for using platelet-rich plasma to help heal the tissues of the vagina and labia. In those previous studies, results showed both improvement in symptoms and in the histology of lichen sclerosus as well as improvement in sexual function in women distressed by dysfunction.

Dr. Runels (a.k.a. the “Orgasm Doctor”) worked with the procedure for 7 years before teaming up with Dr. Goldstein with this study and has certified instructors who have trained over 900 doctors in over 40 countries.

“Unfortunately,” said Dr. Runels in a recent interview, “only one drug is approved by the FDA for the treatment of female sexual dysfunction (flibanserin) and that drug is only indicated to help with libido (not orgasm) and requires the woman to become a complete tetotaller.”

“The problem with orgasm, or the lack there of [in some women], is that it affects the woman’s feeling about herself…and her relationship,” said Dr. Goldstein. “The condition should be treated with the same respect as any other medical condition.”

Dr. Goldstein will be conducting the study at his Center for Vulvovaginal Disorders in Washington, DC. Women who participate in the study will be treated for free (those in the placebo arm of the study will be offered free treatment after the study if they are given the placebo during the study). The Cellular Medicine Association will fund the study.
