PSAT Scores Will Come out December 10 – What to Do Next?

(Newswire.net — November 20, 2018) –Thousands of juniors across our area took the PSAT in October. While the PSAT, as a shorter version of the SAT, serves as a qualifying test for National Merit scholarships, it principally serves as an introduction to the SAT and provides excellent feedback on whether a student should take the SAT and what the student might need to improve upon before taking the test.

On December 10, 2018, students and parents will have a chance to create an account and access online the results of the test. The report actually contains a great deal of data, and not everyone knows exactly how to read it or interpret what it means. The report will contain all of your test answers, the correct answers, and several indices of scores. The most important scores to you immediately will be your verbal score (out of 760), math score (out of 760) and your index score (for scholarship purposes). You will see subscores for critical reading, writing and multiple math categories. You will receive your test booklet back from your school counselor at some point, but in the meantime, all of your actual answers and the explanations for the questions you missed will be featured online.

We believe the data is key to planning your student’s college admissions exams prep – not only providing information about the PSAT itself, but also whether the SAT or ACT might be the better test fit.

To help students and parents understand the results better, Mackler Associates is offering a free half-hour consultation in its office to review your results, answer any questions about them, and help plan out future test preparation.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer, contact Jason Marks at Mackler Associates, either via email at jsmarks@mackleradvantage.com or by phone at (314) 434-4431 to schedule an appointment. Mackler Associates also has a Facebook page.

Winter and spring test dates in both the ACT and the SAT are fast approaching, so scheduling test preparation now would be ideal.
