Espressotec’s New Brand Spotlights at the National Barista Championships

(Newswire.net — April 2, 2019) Vancouver, BC — The Artisan Factory in Toronto was abuzz over the weekend of March 15th as it played host to the Canadian National Barista Competition, where the nation’s most talented baristas competed for a spot on the international coffee stage. From spirited shows of prowess to a stirring protest routine, judges and spectators alike were treated to what was arguably the greatest national competition to date. And behind the scenes, organizers and sponsors teamed up to set the best possible stage with top-tier equipment and gear — including a brand new line of barista tools, Java Gear by Vancouver’s own Espressotec.

Espressotec was proud to award the top six competitors at the CNBC, including first-place champion Cole Torode of Rosso Coffee Roasters in Calgary, and Vancouver’s own Kris Wu who took second place, with a selection of Java Gear prizes. With the support of the Canadian chapter of the Specialty Coffee Association, Torode will proceed to the World Barista Championship in Boston next month to represent Canada among more than 50 of the world’s top baristas. Managed and produced by World Coffee Events, this will be the 19th annual Championship, the inaugural of which was hosted in Monte Carlo in 2000. Last year, Cole Torode placed 5th in the world, and once again stands to impress international audiences on behalf of Canada’s growing coffee industry.
