(Newswire.net — March 6, 2019) — As social media keeps evolving, more brands are relying on the social media platforms to reach their target audiences. The year 2019 is here and many brands are hoping to capture consumers attention and so it is time to look at some of the trends that can help brands reach a large number of audience.

The following are social media trends for 2019:

  1. Quality and creativity over quantity

When it comes to content, marketers usually flood platforms with mediocre content that cannot attract the attention of the audience. The threshold for attracting the customer attention and trust has grown significantly over the years. Marketers who want to gain the trust of the audience must be willing to go an extra mile when it comes to creating engaging content.

The only way that the brands can have an impact is if they become purposeful and creative.  A precise content when created thoughtfully can have a greater impact than a lengthy content that is uninspired and shallow.

  1. Building a brand narrative

Businesses should be able to build a strategic narrative behind their brand. A narrative captures the experiences and moments shared between a user and a product or service- it’s the conversation that is occurring and it’s usually about trying to create a wider and more positive change.

Narratives can be distributed through digital media and social media. These narratives also reflect what a brand’s community is saying about them. A brand has a possibility of expanding if it builds a larger story.

  1. Strengthening trust in social media platforms

Social media platforms continue to see growth annually- Facebook now has more than 2 billion active users every month. Sadly, this this picture is not entirely nice because consumer confidence in social media is not stable on the ground.

Consumers are cautious about the information they get on social media. Perhaps marketers are contributing to the situation when they don’t label paid advertising posts or they create a jam on a platform with ads that overwhelm users. This can leave the consumers feeling cautious of the brand and the platform.

Brands should strive to find ways to build consumer trust. This basically means focusing on ways to connect with the audience authentically and ways to highlight their humanity. It is very crucial for brands to connect with their audiences on a meaningful level.

  1. Segmenting your social audiences

While brands usually talk about their audiences and consumers, the truth is that most businesses will have several audiences. Segmentation is the process of organizing your audience into segments [manageable groups] so that you can design your communications to the preference of each group.

Social media platform becomes more effective when you segment your audiences to make you relevant to the right groups of people at the right time. When you make assumptions about your audience and grouping them together, it could limit your ability to reach more people.

The rule of the thumb is, the more you know your audience and the various groups that make them up, the better you are able to adjust your narratives and messaging to fit each group.
