New Studies Now Warn Against The Worst Eating Habits for Cholesterol

(Newswire.net — August 8, 2019) Orlando, FL — Health authorities have long warned that having high levels of bad cholesterol is actually a major risk factor of cardiovascular disease.

According to physicians, it is always best to resort to the measures helpful in reducing levels of LDL – buildup of which produces blockages in the arteries. One of the ways to do this is to correct some eating mistakes.

Sarah-Jane Bedwell, RD, LDN, host of Cooking with Sarah-Jane, says that while it used to be thought that eating cholesterol-rich foods would raise blood cholesterol levels, we now know that consuming too many saturated fats and not enough unsaturated, heart-healthy fats is what actually affects blood cholesterol levels the most.

It is recommended to choose foods with mono-unsaturated fats and poly-unsaturated fats, which may aid in preventing and managing high levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Doing so may also increase the levels of HDL levels.

Some healthy fats are recommended, and they can be found in trout, mackerel, salmon, and herring. These fats do not affect levels of LDL, but increase good cholesterol levels.

Studies have shown increasing calcium intake benefits HDL levels and reduces bad cholesterol. It is wise to consume dairy products, such as yogurt, fat-free milk, and cheese.

In ensuring that levels of cholesterol and triglycerides are managed well, it is wise to consider the help of ashwagandha. This powerful healing natural ingredient works naturally in providing a range of healing benefits to the body.

According to studies, this natural ingredient possesses not just antioxidants but also strong inflammation-fighting properties.

Scientists have found its anti-inflammatory effects aid in enhancing heart health. It is worth mentioning that inflammation-fighting agents have long been found to decrease triglyceride and cholesterol levels.

In animal research, its use has been found to significantly reduce these blood fats. Another study involving rats also showed it reduced total cholesterol by 53 percent. It has also been able to decrease triglycerides by nearly 45 percent.

Researchers carried out a 60-day study and it involved chronically stressed adults. In this research, it was found that those taking the highest ashwagandha dose achieved a 17 percent reduction in LDL or bad cholesterol levels.

What makes the findings even more beneficial is that this medicinal herb reduced levels of triglycerides by 11 percent on average.

There are supplements found to be beneficial in delivering the healing goodness of ashwagandha. One is Divine Bounty Ashwagandha, which has long been found to be highly potent and pure (https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Ashwagandha-Capsules-Absorption-Ashwaganda/dp/B072KFLL6X).
