Where Are the Best Glamping Spots in Colorado?

(Newswire.net — May 26, 2021) — There’s a simple joy in camping. The removal of all our usual home comforts, the sweet smell of fresh air, the feeling of being at one with nature. It’s an opportunity to really connect not only with one another over simple tasks like fetching water but also with the simple food and lifestyle – even if only temporarily.

There are those of us who know all of this, and know all about all the benefits of camping – but still aren’t keen. Why stay in a bed on the ground without a mattress when humanity has evolved to the point where we simply don’t have to? Luckily, there’s a happy in between for camping lovers and haters – and it’s called glamping.

Glamping is a portmanteau of ‘glamorous’ and ‘camping’ and if you call to mind an image from a movie of some ancient warlord’s tent filled with draping cloths and soft light, you’ll have a fairly clear image of what to expect. It’s the height of luxury as far as camping is concerned – and if you’re looking to combine a comfortable experience with great access to outdoor pursuits, then there’s no better place to go than in Colorado. Below, we’ve put together our favorite three spots for glamping.

Royal Gorge Glamping

Royal Gorge Colorado cabin rental and tent rental are reasonably priced and available year-round, so whether you’re hoping for a rafting adventure on a scorching hot summer’s day or a beautiful autumn hike, there will be something available for you.

If you’re looking for a romantic retreat there are plenty of couple’s cabins and tents on the market, or for a large group trip, you should look into renting a yurt or larger cabin that can accommodate everyone. And you couldn’t ask for better scenery – well known for its stunning landscapes. Royal Gorge is a fantastic place to commune with nature and enjoy the great outdoors (even if from a comfortable bed rather than a sleeping bag).

There are plenty of suppliers you can go with and choose what’s right for your needs – from luxury retreats to adventure-focused camping grounds that can help you build your ideal holiday from the ground up.

Never Summer Glamping

At almost the other end of the spectrum to the Royal Gorge Cabins’ luxurious feel, Never Summer provides ‘glamping’ with just a little less of the glam for those of you who want to remain a little closer to nature. While beds, cooking facilities, and lanterns are provided there is still no running water or electricity, leaving it to the guests to fend for themselves.

In aptly named ‘Never Summer’, just outside Walden, there is snow more often than not, and some of the cabins require a cross country skiing trek to access – but once settled, you’ll be rewarded with utter seclusion, surrounded by 70,000 acres of pristine wilderness for you to adventure through (on skis or on foot).

Black Tree Resorts Glamping

Just a short distance from Eleven Mile State Park, Black Tree is truly luxurious without losing the natural elements of camping. It’s accessible from Lake George and Highway 24, making it easy to get to (definitely easier than Never Summer) from Denver as well as Colorado Springs.

You can enjoy everything from fishing to horseriding in the surrounding forest, and enjoy time alone with your loved ones in your comfortable ten furnished with queen-size beds and your own private patio.

If you’ve been looking to get your family or significant other to go on a camping trip with you but have been met only with dragging feet and reluctant groans, then suggesting glamping in Colorado’s Royal Gorge might be the way forward for you.
