(Newswire.net — June 14, 2021) Orlando, FL — Today, the high rates of mental health issues continue to skyrocket, and this alarms more and more doctors. There are various factors found to contribute to the onset of mental issues and interestingly, in a study, researchers discovered an environmental contributing factor for these problems.

A study was spearheaded by the University of York and the National Centre for Social Research.

In this research, the investigators analyzed data from a large national mental health survey called the Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey (APMS). It is worth mentioning the APMS is the primary source of information on the mental health of individuals dwelling in England and assesses mental disorders using diagnostic criteria.

The investigators found that individuals with homes destructed by storms or flooding are significantly more susceptible to experiencing mental health issues. These particularly include depression and anxiety.

This has led researchers to suggest that the association between the risk to mental health and experiencing weather damage to your home is similar to the odds of mental health associated with living in a disadvantaged area.

It is also worth noting that even when damage is relatively minor, individuals with weather-damaged homes are still more likely to experience poor mental health. The same is true even when the damage is relatively minor and does not force them to leave their homes.

Scientists stress the importance of realizing that climate change has a likelihood of increasing the frequency and intensity of storms and floods in the UK. This is why emergency planning for extreme weather should include mental health support for people affected.

Flooding and other environmental issues are just some of the triggers of poor mental health. It is important to note that there are other contributing factors that scientists are warning against.

There is actually an increasing number of research studies looking into ways to help reduce mental health rates. In some studies, it has been found the use of remedies may be extremely beneficial.

Probiotics can be useful for mental health. These beneficial bacteria are widely studied due to their remarkable healing effects, especially for gut health. They have been theorized to be useful for mental health due to the connection between the gut and the brain.

Multiple research studies suggest that probiotics have been able to help reduce the severity of mental health issues. In 1 to 2 months of probiotic intake, scientists found improvements in anxiety, depression, autism, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and memory.

Divine Bounty Digestive Enzymes could be an excellent source of these beneficial bacteria. It contains 500 mg of digestive enzymes, namely lipase, amylase, invertase, Glucoamylase, papain, and bromelain. It even has prebiotics and probiotics.
