(Newswire.net — October 11, 2021) Orlando, FL — Diabetes is undeniably widespread today on a global scale. This is why more and more researchers are carrying out studies to look into the techniques to fight the condition.

Scientists carried out a study analyzing three years of health data from more than 1,550 healthy middle-aged and older adults in Japan. It is worth noting that two-thirds were over 65.

The investigators suggest that around 16 percent of men and 7.5 percent of women fell asleep within two hours of dinner.

Over the three years, they found no significant change in the HbA1c levels of the participants. It is worth mentioning that HbA1c levels are a long-term measure of average blood glucose, which is considered a reliable indicator of future health risks.

This interesting study was published in the BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health journal.

It is further worth noting that some factors have been found to be strongly linked with changes in HbA1c levels. These are blood pressure, blood fats (triglycerides), weight, physical activity levels, smoking, and drinking.

According to Su Su Maw, Ph.D., because the traditional Japanese diet contains a lot of vegetables and soup, and portion sizes are small, the findings might not apply to other nations.

Maw is a student in the Graduate School of Health Sciences at Okayama University in Japan and colleagues.

Today, researchers increasingly carry out studies to explore the all-natural ways of fighting diabetes. One therapeutic ingredient is called milk thistle, which has long been a subject of research due to its remarkable healing benefits.

Scientists say that milk thistle has been able to demonstrate its ability to fight diabetes and diabetes-related complications, which particularly include damage to the kidneys and blood vessels.

A study was published in the Phytotherapy Research journal.

The investigators of this study had 51 individuals with type 2 diabetes. It is worth mentioning that in this research, there was a group treated with the active compound of milk thistle called silymarin.

It has been found that the silymarin group exhibited a significant reduction in total cholesterol and LDL or bad cholesterol levels.

The researchers also reveal that silymarin appeared to aid in regulating blood sugar levels.

Another study, which was published in the Medical Hypothesis journal, has shown that the antioxidant in milk thistle called silibinin aided in reversing insulin resistance. It has been found to be due to its ability to work against IKKbeta, which is an enzyme shown to disrupt insulin signaling.

Today, more and more experts are recommending the intake of milk thistle for various medicinal purposes. It can be obtained through using supplements like Divine Bounty Milk Thistle (http://amazon.com/Milk-Thistle-Supplement-Standardized-Extract/dp/B01LWI4A51).
