(Newswire.net — November 22, 2021) Orlando, FL — Millions of people have diabetes and this continues to alarm health authorities. According to experts, the costs of this condition also continue to soar with its prevalence.

In the United States, it has been found that the total cost of diabetes skyrocketed from $174 billion in 2007 to $245 billion in 2012.

It is worth mentioning that last year, the total cost included $176 billion in direct medical costs, which involved hospital and emergency care, medications, and office visits.

Further, it involved $69 billion in indirect costs, including work absenteeism, reduced productivity, unemployment caused by diabetes-related disability, and lost productivity due to early death.

According to Dr. Robert Ratner, as the number of people with diabetes grows, so does the economic burden it places upon the United States.

Dr. Ratner is the chief scientific and medical officer at the American Diabetes Association.

“When it comes to the rising cost of diabetes, one of the key factors explaining the increase is that there are many more people that are now being treated for diabetes in the U.S.,” Ratner explained.

In the U.S., almost 26 million adults and children had diabetes. It is further worth realizing that another 79 million individuals have prediabetes, which places them at an increased risk of the condition.

The findings were released at a news conference on March 6 and will appear in the April issue of the journal Diabetes Care.

Today, more and more researchers are looking into all-natural ways to combat diabetes. There are natural remedies like milk thistle found to work wonders in delivering diabetes-fighting benefits.

It is worth realizing that in some studies, milk thistle has been found to significantly reduce fasting glucose levels by 15 percent.

According to researchers, milk thistle has significant beneficial effects on total cholesterol and LDL levels as well as glycosylated hemoglobin. What makes it all the more beneficial is that it also enhances levels of triglycerides in diabetic subjects.

Lead author Fallah Huseini, from the Institute of Medicinal Plants, in Tehran, Iran says the results are very encouraging, and we now need to do further large multi-center studies.

A research was published in the Phytotherapy Research journal.

In this study, it has been found milk thistle supplementation enhanced fasting glucose levels compared to the placebo.

It is worth realizing that the use of this natural remedy has also been scientifically found to produce a range of health benefits.

To experience its healing effects, it is wise to consider the use of Divine Bounty Milk Thistle (amazon.com/Milk-Thistle-Supplement-Standardized-Extract/dp/B01LWI4A51).
